The Penhorn Animal Hospital Story

Doctors Karen Keizer and Kathy Lamey are teaming up with Wade Smith, RVT to spearhead the first veterinary urgent care facility in the maritimes. Combined, they have over 50 years of experience in urgent emergency care.

What is urgent care? Urgent care bridges the gap between general practice and emergency care. There are many types of cases that require veterinary attention in a timely fashion that do not necessary have to be waiting several hours to be seen at an emergency clinic. General practices are often busy with preventative medicine which means urgent care appointments are difficult if not impossible to accommodate.

We are here to help. The Penhorn Animal Hospital will be open from 10am to 8pm seven days a week. We will accept referrals from general practice and emergency clinics as well as offering same day / same week appointments for less urgent situations.

How it works.
